OF IN-PIPE TECHNOLOGY TREATMENT WALKER, LOUISIANA and WHEATON, ILLINOIS (January 8, 2001) - - - Walkers Mayor Mike Grimmer met with officials from In-Pipe Technology Company, of Wheaton, IL, on Thursday, January 4, to discuss the results from the first 90 days of the In-Pipe Technology treatment process on the Walker sewer system and wastewater treatment plant.
The Mayor, together with Robert Dugas, Walkers Water & Wastewater Superintendent, confirmed their satisfaction with In-Pipe and said that they are impressed with the results. We have no odors in our system or at the plant. Even the pump station behind City Hall no longer has odors, said Mayor Grimmer. Mayor Grimmer went on to say that the creek that the plant discharges into is clear and odor free. What is really impressive is that we have had large amounts of rainfall that increases our flow to more than 1.5 million gallons per day (the treatment plant is rated at 0.5 million gallons per day). Even with these large amounts of water, we have not had problems with odors.Robert Dugas said, I was able to turn off one of our three 75 horsepower blowers which has cut our utility bill a lot. Also, we have not had any grease blockages in the collection system since In-Pipe started. Mr. Dugas added our sludge production is way, way down. The town of Walkers new plant progresses as shown above.
Dan Williamson, In-Pipe Technology Company President stated, We are extremely pleased with the impact In-Pipe has had in Walker, especially since the treatment plant is designed for only one half million gallons per day and has been averaging almost three times that flow since we started. According to Walkers analytical laboratory analyses, the plant discharge has been in compliance with EPA permit parameters when the flow rates were around 1 million gallons per day. He added that the results of no odors, better effluent, and reduced sludge production confirm the benefits of In-Pipe treatment. FOR FURTHER INFORMATION PLEASE CONTACT:
