IN-PIPE TECHNOLOGY ISSUED SLUDGE REDUCTION PATENT

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA (OCTOBER 1, 1998) - - - In-Pipe Technology (IPT) , an innovator in municipal wastewater treatment, announced today the receipt of its most recent U.S. patent (5,788,841) for its sludge reduction capabilities. IPT provides unique, patented processes for converting the wastewater collection system into an efficient high-speed treatment step thereby improving plant performance and reducing operations costs.

With its latest patent, IPT now offers a comprehensive, cost-effective solution to the problems plaguing municipal wastewater treatment facilities: infrastructure and pipe corrosion, odor control, sludge reduction and EPA compliance.

" By controlling the biofilm in the collection system, IPT facilitates digestion primarily in an anaerobic state. Since anaerobic digestion yields 10-20% of the biosolids produced by aerobic digestion and does not require oxygen, the amount of material for the treatment plant to digest is significantly reduced", said Mr. J. Rodney Dickerson, inventor of the technology. "Additionally, anaerobic digestion requires no energy for oxygen supply thereby providing an energy savings."

IPT offers a turnkey wastewater treatment solution with guaranteed service and no capital investment while reducing operating and maintenance costs.
